"Paint someone you love. Maybe someone who’s not with us anymore."
So since the new season of “The Boondocks” is creeping ever closer I decided to go back and watch season one through three forgetting the minefield of feelings you get from watching season one. This is one of three major ones.
If you’ve never seen the show or only seen certain episodes, it is heavily implied that Huey and Riley Freeman’s parents are dead. And you really don’t get anymore insight into that until this episode when Riley who’s taken to tagging houses paints this beautiful mural of their parents on their wedding day.
And you don’t get anymore insight after that. You’re stuck with this lovely image. Now this episode makes a lot of other great points such as establishing Riley as an accomplished artist and satirizing “Super Size Me”. But this is one of four episodes out of the entire series that actually goes into back story.
